International Love Song

Lyrics:

Can I take your picture, put it in my billfold
You’ll never believe where I will take you
Can I have your headband, put it in my suitcase
You know I’m always gone before I think to thank you

I’m a soul that wanders in the field between
The Hyatt and the Leela
Empty as a tiffin in the afternoon

A perfect love is a world without hunger
A perfect love is a world without hunger

Freckles on your forehead, twinkle in your eye
You look just like my true love
Is she in your village, when can I meet her
She’s so indigenously dressed, you’re so indigenously dressed

I’m a thumb that wanders through the pages of
The National Geographic
Staring at my cell phone in an airport lounge

A perfect love [Maybe I'll stay here] is a world without hunger [Maybe I'll take you home]
A perfect love [Where do we go from here] is a world without hunger

You know a perfect love is a world without hunger
I’ve never seen it
I’ve never heard of it before
But I keep on looking for
A world without hunger

Cricket for baseball, polo for golf
Curry for ketchup and barbecue sauce
Lookin’ to find a reason to shine
Waitin’ in rickshaws standing in line

Or wandering through the field between
The Hyatt and the Leela
Empty as a tiffin

    From the Author:

The older I get, the clearer it becomes that love cannot be requested and it can’t be genuinely given for the sole purpose of fulfilling a need. It has to be inspired. I think I’m finally starting to grasp the differences between the limits of human interaction in romantic relationships with the completed nature of God’s love for his children because of Christ, the perfect inspiration. For some reason, I kept getting them confused. On a similar note, the starving mouths of India will not be fed immediately but that doesn’t mean we abandon our striving for the end of global starvation. I saw a wound in the eyes of many people on our trips that I was desperate to cover, and it looked surprisingly similar to the one I have seen in the center of my failed relationships. Our command is that perfect peace and love are, for this realm anyway, to be always pursued even if never attained.

    Other Notes:

    • The Leela is a chain of hotels and resorts in India.
    • There is a spelling error in the liner notes; it’s not a “tiffen” but a “tiffin”. This was pointed out to us by Rumor Forum user Christiana, who went on to quote a site about Indian cuisine that explains: “In Southern India light meals and finger-food is always referred to as tiffin, an Anglo-Indian word meaning ‘snack’. This vegetarian fare usually includes some kind of a spicy side dish, served with a starch like dosas (crepes) and idilis (dumplings). It is commonly eaten at breakfast and lunch, but different dishes are more appropriate depending on the time of day.” The term tiffin seems to be interchangeable with the three-tiered container it comes in, which is properly called a dabbas. So now you know.

I like the music of caedmon’s call and especially the ‘internationl love song.
I’m looking for the accords to play it with my giutar. May anyone please help me?

    thanks Janik
