Lyrics:
When I was young
You were my breath and heartbeat
Born in the dark
You were that hand that held me
You opened your arms
Called me to Your salvation
Your infinite love
Echoes in all creation
For who You are, you’re the great I am
For Who you are, you’re the son of man
For Who you are, I am who I am
Father of grace
I am a child of mercy
Inside my heart
And all around me I see the glory
You pulled me out of darkness
You pulled me out of all my emptiness
You are Your instrument of praise

From the Author:
“The idea of worshipping God for who He is, irrespective of what He has done for us, has always fascinated me. It is the essence of of Biblical worship and a sort of motto for creation. That is that God has made His eternal qualities known, but regardless of our acceptance of those truths His chief end is to glorify Himself. Therefore, the ability to share in the knowledge of what and what He is can and must be a product of grace.”
Other Notes:…Rumor has it that this song, at one point, was comprised of over 100 unique tracks in the studio. Apparently, Josh trimmed it down to around 70 for the final cut…
Is there any way of getting a chart or chord progression of
“Who You Are?” I have always loved this song and wanted our music team to play it in worship but it is a difficult chord progression and bass line to pick out by ear. Any ideas? Thanks!
