From the Author:

"Wesley's hymn "Depth of Mercy" is so powerful and raw. Some of the verses are so in-your-face honest that they are difficult to hear and even more difficult to sing. The first two verses of "Only Hope" come straight from that hymn. The rest of the song originates from me wrestling with the truth that, yes, there is mercy enough for even me. There's mercy enough for all of us. The hard part is realizing the depth of our need. It's not simply our only hope of Heaven, it's our only hope of joy and life on earth."
