Never Gonna Let Go

Written by: Joshua Moore, Steve Hindalong, and Marc Byrd

Appears on: Back Home

Lyrics:

You’ve been lost in the wind
And the rain of a storm at sea
The waves crashing over your back
And you’re crying out for me

But as the ocean rages
I am sleeping in the boat
But I have a plan, I’m holding your hand
And I’m keeping you afloat

I’m never gonna let go
My love for you is always true
I’m never gonna lose heart
‘Cause I’m holding on tight to you
Should the cruel wind chill your soul
When the world seems out of control
I’m never gonna let go of you

The day’s old, this desert is cold
And a dark cloud covers the truth
Fix your eyes on the horizon
The light is breaking through

You are my beloved child
Forever in my heart
After the fall and after it all
You’re safe within my arms

Whenever you feel that you’re lost in doubt
I am the way
I am the vine, you’re the fruit
I am the truth and the life and the light of day

  1. Chris Hubbs says:

    From Josh Moore:

“Every now and then, we can take the time to look for God’s communication in and through things that happen in our lives. Whether it be through circumstances, something we’ve learned or hopefully even a song. It seems to me that He particularly chooses to remind us of His faithfulness–the cornerstone of our belief in His existence. If we have faith that He is present and cares for and loves us, then He will display His steadfast pursuit of our heart in the minutia of life and its mysteries.”

  2. Ross Chaffin says:

Never Gonna Let Go is considered by many to be emblematic of the dark period of Caedmon’s Call. Most would agree that this started with the first In the Company of Angels CD and continued through “Back Home,” culminating in the loss of Derek and the addition of Andrew Osenga, which started a creative, if not commercial, rebound by the band.

    And oh. This song blows.
