So, back in May, we announced that Chris Hubbs was on staff and that he was doing a new song vault.

Well, in addition to all the CC news, we have some news of our own, as we upgrade things around the site.
We already hinted at this on Tuesday, but Jeff Holland has been working up a wicked tour database. There’s lots of functionality that I’m sure that he wants to add going forward, but it’s a start. Please provide feedback as you feel led to on this one—we do this for you, so we want to know what you want to see.
Chris Hubbs has been doing the grunt work of taking our old song vault into a new, WordPress-powered song vault. All the same content, but in an easier-to-maintain system, which means that we’ll be far more likely to keep it up to date. ;) Kudos to Chris for doing the grunt work. This brings active cc.net staffing to four. We might have to cut it back to three, though, when we see what Cliff thinks about Chris’s post about various band members. ;)
Please welcome Jeff and Chris to the organization.
Before I go, let me point to my Flickr photoset of shots taken in studio. My favorite has to be Andrew Osenga playing my grandfather’s Gibson Dove acoustic guitar. My grandfather wanted me to have that guitar after he died, and it’s largely sat in my closet since he died.
When Bryan and I were in Nashville back in October, I off-handedly mentioned the guitar to Andy, who promptly flipped out and wanted to see it. I’ve loaned it long-term to Andrew, who did an excellent job in getting it cleaned up and playable, with help from Todd. I’m just happy that the guitar will get used in some small way to make music that I’ll love and cherish. I think that my grandfather would have liked that.
[Sorry to have taken forever to post that photo, AO. You may now gush about that guitar. ;)]
Did you, like me, always end up missing Guild Weekends and wish that you could have been there? Now you can see what it was like. Scott took VHS recordings from Jeremy G and turned ‘em into DVDs, and you can now download the recording on indieriver.net. Please note that since this is 4+ GBs that it’s going to take you quite some time to grab it; I’ve been going for over a day and I’m just over one-third done.
Also, please take note of the fact that our recent firewall changes mean that your TCP port for IndieRiver has to be between 56000 and 56999. If you need help getting started with BitTorrent, Mark Smiley’s primer is on squarepegalliance.net. Worth doing, folks!
We here at [caedmonscall.net] are proud to announce the launch of [andrewosenga.net], which has been spearheaded by the hard work of Chris Hubbs. Bryan and I will support Chris as he needs it, but he’s the man on this score. :)
If you need another push to go over to IndieRiver.net and get hooked up with some bootleg action, I’ve put up the show from the 4th of June at Church of the Apostles in Atlanta. Take a look at the show information page here on the .net if you want to know a little about the show before diving in. One reason to grab this? Andy and Danielle pull off a rendition of “I Did Not Catch Her Name” for the first time ever in concert.
We here at [caedmonscall.net] are proud to announce IndieRiver.net, our bootleg-trading site powered by BitTorrent.
Many moons ago, we acquired a copy of the 1993 Caedmon’s Call demo tape. Thanks to Rick “Caedmon’s Medley” DePirro, we now have a high-quality copy of the demo trading on FLAC. So, fire up your BitTorrent client and hit up the BitTorrent tracker for the Caedmon’s Call demo tape.
[If you're staring at your screen and wondering what the heck BitTorrent is, much less how to use it, check out Mark Smiley's HOWTO on downloading and processing bootlegs via BitTorrent over on squarepegalliance.net.]
Folks have asked if the [caedmonscall.net] Song Vault is lost and gone forever, and … it’s not. We’re working up what we think is a better presentation of the song vault, which we’ll make public when the time comes. We were going to wait until that was done, but our big news yesterday dictated the acceleration.
I have only been talking with Bryan about a cc.net redesign for, oh, three years now. We’ve let it slip and slide, but … we’re ready to take it live.
Back in a couple hours with some big news.
The Rumor Mill is not dead. It’s gone for a walk. Have patience and long for the day—coming soon—when it will be revealed in its new glory.
Bryan is back from his trip to Ecuador with the band and he has lots of stories and pictures to share. Be looking for those in the coming days. Overall the trip was good. The things that Compassion is doing in Ecuador were amazing to see. Bryan will be putting his trip journal in the Rumor Forum soon, and there will be some interesting stories about the band in there that may surprise you. Details to follow.
