garbage

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

an alleged conversation from last night’s quasi-rehearsal per Andy O’s blog:

“Should we get some trash cans?”

“Yeah, we probably should.”

Are they going to be banging trash cans around during “Thankful”, or are they planning on blowing our minds with a percussion-heavy version of “Never Gonna Let Go”?

Sunday Night we’ll find out…and the place for all the info will be here at the dotnet for the Overdressed Liveblog.

rehearsal tonight

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

Rumor has it that Garett, Todd, Derek, and Andy are getting together this evening to start working out some parts to the songs they’ll be playing live next week.

So many guitars, so little parts to go around. And yet with the capable hands that these songs are in, I have no doubt that the end result will be rad.

No CC Show in Edina on Friday

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Folks have asked, and we’ve inquired: there is no Caedmon’s Call show on Friday, December 1st in Edina, Minn. It just didn’t come off. Sorry, Minnesotans! First winter comes, and now this … but you still have Gopher hockey.

Guild Rooms this Weekend!

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Guild Rooms are not promised at every show in the Guild 5 Era, but we’re happy to announce that there will be Guild Rooms at the shows this weekend. Those would be in MacMurray, PA on Friday night the 27th and in Akron, OH on Saturday the 28th.

What’s the protocol for getting into a Guild 5 Room? Well, since you don’t have membership cards yet, bring along your proof of purchase that you’ve joined. your printed receipt showing that you paid $13.50 to be in Guild 5 will do the trick.

Here’s the rest of the info, as relayed to me by the band:

We have checked and we can do a guild room at both shows this weekend
BEFORE the concert.

Please let the guilders know to be at the room 30 minutes prior to
the show. Once they purchase their tickets, they can let the ticket
takers know they are in the guild and that they are there for a meet and greet and they will be instructed where to go.

So there you have it. 30 minutes prior to showtime there should be an opportunity to meet some of the band. Not sure which bandmembers will make it to the room, but it should be a great chance to interact.

If you’re not a part of Guild 5, but want to join up, follow the instructions here, print out your receipt, and welcome to the club!

Mark Polack Filling in on Bass

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Many of you have noticed that there’s been some fluidity for Caedmon’s at bass and on keys. Let’s explain that a little bit: Jeff Miller has a full-time job and a family, so there are times when he just can’t make it out. Similarly, Josh Moore, from time to time, has commitments from the other musical stuff that he does that keep him from making it out to a show. This doesn’t mean that either of them are out of the band, all rumors to the contrary.

Today, Andy’s posted photos of rehearsals for the EMANCIPATION Tour, and you’ll see that Mark Polack is filling in on bass for Jeff.

Don’t be alarmed. Doomsday will still have his wonderfully pessimistic influences on the band in the future. ;) In the meantime, enjoy Polack’s bass-playing … I know I will!

Go See Randall!

Thursday, June 10th, 2004

Phenomenal songwriter, remarkable singer, and talented musician are three ways to describe Randall Goodgame. Here at the dotnet we like to refer to him as “The Nicest Guy in the Contiguous 48″. He’s written songs for CC in the past (Hands of the Potter, Only Hope) and his pen is a huge part of the upcoming record from the band. All that to say this: you can catch him in concert in Bridgewater, NJ (6/18) and Houston, TX (6/28 & 6/30) this month. see RandallGoodgame.com for more details.

Caedmon’s Leaves for India

Friday, March 12th, 2004

The band left this morning for India, the first of four trips abroad to write and record for their next studio album, Third World Symphony. Our prayers and best wishes go with them.

Moody Show NOT Free

Saturday, January 17th, 2004

Important Note for all of you planning on attending the February 8th CC show in Chicago at the Moody Bible Institute: The show is not free. Despite being listed everywhere that this is a free show, the promoter of the concert has told us otherwise. The price for a ticket is $8 per person, or $6 if there’s a group of 10 or more.
