FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CAEDMON’S CALL ANNOUNCES BIG YEAR WITH NEW ALBUM, NEW LABEL,
AND RETURN OF DEREK WEBB FOR PROJECT AND TOUR

NASHVILLE, TN…May 22, 2007… INO Records’ announces the signing of award-winning Christian group, folk-pop sensation Caedmon’s Call. The group will be releasing their 15th project Overdressed on Aug. 28, and features former member-turned-solo singer/songwriter Derek Webb on the project and upcoming tour.

“It was definitely a no-brainer to record with Derek again, especially when we [Caedmon’s Call] joined INO, which has been Webb’s label for years,” says Cliff Young. “We all sat down one day and thought ‘I wonder what it would be like to make an album together’.” “We have all grown so much over the past six years, and I know for me [and I’m sure the others] it was a natural process to switch to INO and then have Derek re-join us for this project and upcoming tour.

Overdressed is a 12 song cd collection unlike any other Caedmon’s Call record, organically acoustic with emphasis on rhythm while maintaining cleverly-written lyrics. All songs were co-wrote between Andrew Osenga, Randall Goodgame, Derek Webb and Webb’s wife, musician Sandra McCracken.

“The title Overdressed comes from lyrics in the song ‘Trouble,’” says Derek Webb. “It talks about how, if I’m honest, all my best attempts at being good are a real mess. Just like the Garden of Eden, I try to cover myself with so many different things. So, when I’m with Him, I feel so overdressed.”

Formerly with Essential Records, Caedmon’s Call joined the INO roster of artists in 2007. “I have long been an admirer of Caedmon’s Call rich musical legacy,” says president of INO Records Jeff Moseley. “Now with the addition of Derek Webb for this record, it just feels like a natural fit. I am thrilled they are a part of the INO family and that we can share in the future of Caedmon’s Call.”

Caedmon’s Call will head out on a promotional tour in late summer before headlining a Spring tour. These dates will be announced at a later time.

Going on 13 years in the Christian Music Industry, Caedmon’s Call has made the leap from independent act to Christian music mainstay. In 1997, the group’s self-titled debut set a record, selling more units in its first week than any other new contemporary Christian music artist. Caedmon’s Call has launched seven other national releases—40 Acres, Long Line of Leavers, In the Company of Angels, Back Home, In the Company of Angels II – The World Will Sing, Chronicles, Share The Well and the upcoming project Overdressed. Among its accolades are an Album of the Year Dove Award, a Billboard Music Video Award nomination and seven No. 1 radio singles. Caedmon’s Call is an original contributor to City on a Hill, claiming two Special Event Album Dove Awards for its work with the series.

Feb 07 Update

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

Well, not a lot to update right now…but here’s a few tidbits…

+The new album will likely be released in late August. August 21st maybe? or August 28th? We’ll see.

+Todd has an impressive beard going right now…more on that in a minute

+As far as i know there is no producer lined up for the album right now…but don’t quote me on that.

+Cliff, Todd, Garett, Andy, and Randall were all in Nashville last week working on songs for the record and discussing the overall philosophy of the disc.

+Rumor has it that Cliff, Todd, Garett, and former CC member Derek Webb were all at Andy Osenga’s solo show in Nashville on Thursday Night.

For a much better update, including more details and some good photos, be sure to check out Andy Osenga’s latest blog post Pre-Production Part 2.

Todd on the Mend

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

Back in December, we let you know about Todd’s trampoline accident. Bryan and I have done our best to keep in touch with the Braggs during his recovery process. We got a note from Todd yesterday and want to pass it on:

Geof,

I am two and a half weeks into the six to eight week healing process and so far, so good. I seem to feel a little better every day. Although it is a slow process, I believe I am healing well. The doctor says I should heal completely which is comforting to think about. Its the “mean time” that is not so comforting. I am so thankful that I wasn’t hurt worse. I think one of the hardest things to deal with is not being able to pick up Elliott, and I am also very limited in what I can do to help Christie. She has had her hands full taking care of everything and I have gained a new appreciation for her through all of this. I have to see a neurosurgeon in a couple of weeks to make sure everything is healing as it should. I am praying that there are no unseen issues that I will have to deal with separate from the fractured vertebrae; like slipped or ruptured discs and etc.. I am happy to say that I can play the drums with little or no discomfort. I am also able to get up and walk around pretty well, but only for a couple of hours at time. This seams to get better each day.

Thanks so much for the prayer and concern, it has meant a great deal to me through all of this.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

peace,
todd

We at [caedmonscall.net] would appreciate it if you’d keep Todd in your prayers.

Todd is laying around

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

hey y’all, just wanted to ask you to keep Todd (Caedmon’s drummer) in your prayers. He cracked a vertebrae in a trampoline accident and is going to be recovering for the next 6 to 8 weeks. Apparently these things heal by themself, so that’s a good thing, but they take time. Last saturday was Todd’s birthday, and he probably wasn’t able to do a whole lot. Here’s to hoping for a full recovery!

Also, congrats to Andy and Allison Osenga, who welcomed their second baby girl into the world this month!

what started it all

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Here’s a great picture that Andy O posted from this past weekend.

From left to right that’s, Danielle Young, Amy Ray, Captain BarChord, and Emily Saliers

Amy and Emily are in a band called The Indigo Girls, perhaps you’ve heard of them. In fact, the reason Caedmon’s Call got together in the first place, as Andy O alluded to, is to cover Indigo Girls songs. So I’m sure this was a real treat for Cliff and Danielle (although i think they’ve had a chance to meet them before).

In any event, enjoy the picture. And for Bebo’s sake, if you don’t have Andy O’s blog bookmarked yet, make it happen!

More coming tomorrow…

Israel Trip Cancelled, next album being written

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Because of the current conflict happening in Israel, this trip has been cancelled.

In other news, the band is writing for their next CD, which will not be on Essential Records. We’ve heard rumors about other record labels, some involving various letters of the alphabet, but nothing has been confirmed to us yet. If i had to throw together a rough timeline based on what i’ve heard from the band and from what I know of how Caedmon’s usually operates, i would say that the record should be recorded in the next couple of months, will be finished up at the beginning of next year, will be released in the summer, and will be followed up by a huge tour in the Fall of ‘07. But that’s 90% conjecture and guesstimating on my part.

News on Guild 5 coming this week…stay tuned.

Happy Birthday, Jeff Miller!

Dearest Doomsday:

May your birthday be wonderful and merry, full of family, love, and good tidings for you and yours. [Well, except for the Astros. I still want the Reds to win the NL Central, as unlikely as that may be. ;)]

We hope that 34 treats you well.
