Caedmon’s Call fans:
The band has heard your frustrations with the Raising Up the Dead pre-order, and Derek has addressed many of them. The salient point:
now in terms of the limiting of the immediate download to the top two pre-order tiers, this was not an easily made decision. there was some disagreement at INO as to whether we should immediately deliver the record during the pre-order seeing as though the record would only ever be a digital release (otherwise, it isn’t really a “pre-order” so much as an actual “release”). the compromise was made to allow for some tiers to include an immediate download and to have the others digitally deliver the record on release day.
but since the focus with this record has been and remains on the fans, we have heard your disappointment and have decided to change the pre-order options. as of this posting, ALL PRE-ORDER TIERS WILL INCLUDE AN IMMEDIATE DOWNLOAD.
what does this mean if you’e already pre-ordered? if you have already pre-purchased a tier that didn’t include immediate delivery, you will receive a download code via email within a day or so to get your immediate download as well. and if you pre-purchased one of the top tiers and want to reconsider which one to buy in light of this change, simply send an email to support@discrevolt.com and they will take care of you.
This will not answer everyone’s concerns, of course. Nothing is ever enough, after all. But we do believe that this will address the key concerns that many of you had.
I’m really glad that Derek wrote this, very encouraging. If you read this Derek, thank you.
So, I being a long time Caedmon’s fan, in order to get a physical copy of a CD, must pay $50. That gets me the Guild cd’s (which I already own) the DVD, (which, yes I already own) and the digital download, which I could make myself if I had the physical CD. I understand the internet movement… but I just want a CD… a compact disc… like the 16 Caedmon’s Call ones I have already… 17 if you count the fact I have 2 MC//YS with different covers (I have yet to get the coveted burlap cover)
Agreed that it doesn’t solve everything but thanks!
Geoff, can you tell the band to make “Streets of Gold” a radio single. That song is perfect, it is caedmon’s call.
Adam: Neither Caedmon’s Call nor INO have any interest in radio promotion of this album.
I want to clarify something; when this preorder first went up I think I remember seeing that the much sought after Guild 1 CD was part of the 3rd Tier. Since things were slightly altered the next day, all it says now is guild footage. I want to make sure that this is indeed still the Guild 1 in it’s entirety and not things that I already have. It’s the only album I need to complete my library (besides this one, obviously).
Matt: All Guild content will be available at that tier.
I ordered the Tier 1 (I know I’m a cheapskate) CD before the switch and haven’t recieved the code yet. I’m trying to be patient but in the meantime can you guys help me figure out who the “She” is in the “advance preview” song? I usually understand most of their references and love the stuff Danielle does but this one escapes me! Thanks!
I’m very saddened to find out that this album will not be sold in Christian bookstores, but only in a digital version online. I have worked in Christian retail for over a decade and know first hand how hard these stores work to support the Christian music industry. My first purchase at a Christian bookstore was a ticket to a local CC concert along with their 40 Acres album. Christian bookstores first introduced me to CC. As a long-time Caedmon’s fan, I hate that I am now restricted from promoting the album to customers in my store by not having an album to put into their hands.
