My Calm/Your Storm
Here’s the first song of the first show of the Overdressed Tour, which also happens to be the first song on the first CD that the band ever recorded.
This is also the first time that the word ‘first’ has appeared 6 times in one post.
thanks to Mike Terry for the clip

Andy definitely looks a little awkward…just…there. -But I guess he’ll have his moments later in the show.
This is awsome, can’t wait to see it for myself!!!

CRAP. I missed “first post!”

I’m sure this has been mentioned over the years but… might I suggest the release of a live album…not an album with a lot of live tracks mixed with studio tracks (we got that with Chronicles), but a release of a complete live concert (from one venue). How sweet would that be? Caedmon’s puts on such a great live show…

Until then, Gary, we’ve always got IndieRiver, where fans can trade their concert recordings. I’ll be getting the Langhorne show on the 24th, for sure…

Like someone said from another post, I never had the chance to see Caedmon’s before Derek took off with his solo career. My first time was during that tour with Jars and I have seen them often since then and have seen Derek but I am so pumped to see them up there together. I hope the show is as long and crazy when it gets around to my parts. I would stay up forever to listen them… well maybe. And am I the only one who is wondering where Hands of the Potter is in all this???? Ok done writing.

Is that Derek’s old black Martin he’s playing in the video? I miss that guitar

Geof, You’re recording the Langhorne show? Sweet! I was hoping to make it to that show since it’s only an hour from where I live, but I’m not going to be able to make it :( So, if you’re able to record it, that would be awesome! Are you going to be able to plug in to the SB? I’ve got a show they did at Taylor University in 2000 that’s a soundboard recording and it’s pretty sweet.

Gary: I’m not gonna fly up from Alabama and not record it. ;) I can get a SBD patch, but I’m a snob and really not the biggest fan of them, actually. There are a lot of things that can go wrong with a SBD, and all things told, I’ll typically take a good AUD over a SBD. And I make good AUDs. ;)
[Although I may try to get a second recording device and plug in for a SBD patch so I can matrix the two. But I did just drop $200 on airfare, so am I really gonna drop $300 more on a recorder? Hm.]
Josh: It really scares me how people are obsessed with that guitar. I also think that it could get auctioned on eBay for five figures, given the level of obsession with it.

You’re the man Geof! I hope you have a nice flight and I hope you’re able to get a good recording. I know what you mean about the SBD’s. I’ve come across many SBD sources where the levels are all messed up (guitar real low and voice real high). Anyway, wish I could make it to the show, but hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on a bootleg of this tour sometime down the road.

Better than being obsessed with something else right?…like which white t-shirt he’s wearing based on the level of pit-stains? [yes i took it there]

i was setting on the first row of the first song of the first show of the Overdressed Tour, and i must say it was nothing short of amazing. i first saw you guys in memphis (a great show), but i must say this topped it.
Derek’s opening was perfect. Then when Caedmon’s came out an opened with “my calm/Your storm,” i was blown away. You guys absolutly gave me and my wife what we need for 2.5 hours on a thursday night.
There have been many comments about Andy seeming out of place, but i must disagree. i felt he was right on, performed well, and blended well.
i’m not sure i have ever had a better time at a concert. my wife and i got to sit back and absorb it all. and that is what i love about your concerts. i get sit back and chill, sing, tap my foot, play the air drums & maybe the air guitar, feel convicted, overjoyed, and sometimes brought to tears. O and i didn’t know you guys were that funny.
the concert was right on. thanks for making CBC your first stop.
