thoughts on the release show

The show was great tonight. Certainly not the tightest the band has ever been, but i’d take tonight over just about anything else. The sound was great (good job Harold!), the band had fun, and nobody threw up on stage. There might have been some missed parts and forgotten words here and there, but all in all it was fantastic.

I saw something tonight that i never thought i’d see again…derek and cliff on stage with the band behind them. only it was even better that i could have hoped having andy there as well killing it on that electric. You’ll definitely want to check them out this Spring when they come to your town (or your state).

I’ll leave you with a quote from Derek that probably sums up the way the whole band feels about the night:

“It was way more fun than it was good.” – derek webb

Derek really nailed Ten Thousand Angels and this after struggling to determine if he should do it capo 4 in G… :)

See, yeah, I know it’s not gonna be perfect, but it’s gonna be fun. I will have to get a better recording rig between now and the spring, for sure. I really want a tight SBD-AUD matrix of a great CC show.

The bootleg of tonight’s show should be making as appearance soon. It was recorded digitally direct from their $50K PMD5, so, it should sound pretty good.

If they have fun, the good will come in time. Can’t wait until the spring tour.
