Overdressed Pre-Order …?

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Since I’ve seen people asking in Andrew’s comments on his blog—yes, I read the comments feed :)—I’ll note: I know nothing about the pre-release. At one point, it occurred to me that I didn’t know, but I also had a major work deliverable due today, so that took precedence. But as they say in radio, we’re efforting. [And by "efforting", I mean "I emailed Bryan to see if he knows".]

More when I know.

Song Vault, v2.0

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

So, back in May, we announced that Chris Hubbs was on staff and that he was doing a new song vault.

It’s now ready. Go have fun. :)

Garett’s PowerBook on eBay

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

So you’ve listened to “Share in the Blame” off of Overdressed and you’re digging it. Want a part of the music? Garett’s selling his old Powerbook, which was used in the recording of the album. Maybe if you’re nice, he’ll leave songs from the album on there and you’ll get it early. ;)

First listen from Overdressed

Friday, June 8th, 2007

if you head over to the band’s Myspace Page, you’ll be able to listen to “Share in the Blame” in its entirety.

Share in the Blame, which was written by Sandra McCracken, is track 06 on the album.

If it’s been a while since you’ve heard Derek and Danielle singing with each other, you’re in for a treat.

A Petition for the Pre-Order

Friday, June 1st, 2007

As we announced to you last week, Caedmon’s Call will do pre-orders of Overdressed in two weeks on caedmonscall.com. I think that’s awesome. But, as a Caedmon’s Call fan who also happens to love Jeremy Casella’s music, I think that they should take a page from the playbook of their former opening act and do as he did: if you pre-ordered his latest release, Recovery, you got a digital download of the entire at the time of purchase. I have zero idea whether or not Caedmon’s plans this for Overdressed or not, but … consider this a petition to request that. I know it costs more in the programming side of the house, but I know that it’s feasible, and I have to think that it’s good for the fans.

If you agree, comment here or write it up on your own Weblog and link to us. Have your voice heard.

[And yes, I really am operating in a vacuum here---I haven't asked the band about this, and I haven't talked to Bryan, who's certainly more in-the-know on this than I am, about it. But I'm fine with that---and if I look like the big dummy, well, that won't be the first time. But if it goes right, well, in the words of Major Benson Winnifred Payne, "Who's de dummy now?!"]

The dummy is me: I made this petition and didn’t mention pre-orders of Derek’s last album through TheRingingBell.com? Thanks to everyone who already gave me a hard time about this. I will now go listen to “Friends Are Friends Forever” five times straight as penance.
