Guild Rooms this Weekend!

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Guild Rooms are not promised at every show in the Guild 5 Era, but we’re happy to announce that there will be Guild Rooms at the shows this weekend. Those would be in MacMurray, PA on Friday night the 27th and in Akron, OH on Saturday the 28th.

What’s the protocol for getting into a Guild 5 Room? Well, since you don’t have membership cards yet, bring along your proof of purchase that you’ve joined. your printed receipt showing that you paid $13.50 to be in Guild 5 will do the trick.

Here’s the rest of the info, as relayed to me by the band:

We have checked and we can do a guild room at both shows this weekend
BEFORE the concert.

Please let the guilders know to be at the room 30 minutes prior to
the show. Once they purchase their tickets, they can let the ticket
takers know they are in the guild and that they are there for a meet and greet and they will be instructed where to go.

So there you have it. 30 minutes prior to showtime there should be an opportunity to meet some of the band. Not sure which bandmembers will make it to the room, but it should be a great chance to interact.

If you’re not a part of Guild 5, but want to join up, follow the instructions here, print out your receipt, and welcome to the club!

the new album

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

well, at this point i don’t have too much to report on the new album. i do know that andy osenga and randall goodgame have been writing for it. i also know that they both think that this is going to be a great disc. in fact, i havent heard andy this excited since Share the Well, so that’s encouraging.

Although not confirmed, I do believe that this record will be put out on a label imprint and not as an independent band. It will not be on the Essential Records label, that’s for sure.

From the accounts I’ve heard, the band is moving faster, rather than slower, on getting this album done. As a fan, I’m excited that they might be getting me new material as soon as early 2007, but I also hope that they are not rushing things and that no quality will be sacrificed in order to get something done quicker. We’ll see how things develop.

pens of fury

Monday, October 16th, 2006

We’re headed into NashVegas today to meet up with some of the folks who make Caedmon’s Call the amazing band that they are. In fact, Andy O and Randall Goodgame won’t be meeting up with us until later in the evening because they’ll be spending most of the day writing for the next Caedmon’s record. These two teamed up to write some of the best stuff on Share the Well, although Josh’s stuff was pretty good too, so we’re excited to hear that they are working together again.

If we can get any info out of them regarding the new record, you know that we will. and of course, we’ll pass it along to you.

Andy O on the next CC disc

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

From Andy O’s blog regarding ITCOA2 and the next Caedmon’s disc:

During the making of that album [Andrew's, The Morning], Caedmon’s did a record-contract-fulfilling worship album that was better than it should have been but still bombed, probably because no one really cared about, from the label or the band. That really is unfortunate. The band is in a very excited state right now, though, as we’re planning and writing and gearing up for a new chapter, free from our old contract and other junk. I’m pretty jazzed about where it’s going, to tell you the truth. And I told you I wasn’t jazzed about that worship record, so you can trust me.

Just thought I’d pass that along.

Oh, and Guild 2 and Guild 3 CDs are now $5 a piece in the Caedmon’s Online Store. This is only for Guild 5 Members. At some point in the near future the price will be raised (probably back up to around $10) and the CDs will be offered to the public. So if you want to take advantage of this deal, better to do it now and not put it off.

Guild 5 is now Live

Friday, October 6th, 2006

It’s been days, weeks, months, and years in the making, but the Guild is finally back. Are we better than ever? Not yet, but we’re headed in the right direction. I’ll try to recap where we stand, so forgive me if this material is old news.

Guild 5 is the latest iteration of the Guild. In the past, you’ve paid about $35 for the year and got a few goodies (and a few unkept promises…sorry). For Guild 5, you pay $13.50 for a LIFETIME membership ($10 for membership, $3.50 to mail you your membership card once we have them finished).

Your $10 will get you a membership card, access to the Guild Site, and some discounts on merch. When the Guild 5 CD is finished, which is still a ways away, you’ll be able to purchase it for a nominal fee (like $10 or so). We hope to also put out an online magazine for Guilders, called Thirsty Plants, at some point in the future.

How do you sign up? Head over to The Guild page at Caedmonscall.com. Click Register Now! to give us all your information. (Your personal info will only be used for our gain if the band breaks up and Cliff has to resort to selling timeshares to put bread on the table). Complete all of the registration information and ‘continue’ to submit.

Once you’ve submitted your registration info, you will be taken to the Guild Store. This is where you purchase your Lifetime Guild Membership. A lifetime Membership will automatically be placed in your shopping cart. I suggest you immediately Checkout so as not to combine this order with other orders. You can buy stuff in a few minutes.

When you go to check out, you’ll have to create an account at the Caedmon’s Store. This is different than your Guild Login. Go ahead and create the account so that you can come back and buy stuff whenever. Once you’ve created an account and logged in, finish your purchase. YOUR GUILD ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE ACTIVATED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.

So to recap, in order to activate your Guild Membership, you need to do 2 things:

  1. Register for the Guild at caedmonscall.com
  2. Purchase the Guild Membership from the online store.

If you do these two things together, you’ll be golden. If you registered and paid and do not have access to the Guild Site, email me at guild-at-caedmonscall.com and i’ll check into it and get you squared away.

DO NOT find the Guild Membership in the store without registering and purchase it. That will just give me a headache.

One cool perk to being an early Guild Member? You’ll be able to purchase Guild 2 and Guild 3 CDs for $5 each! We’ll be making these available to the public soon and raising the price, but for now we will be offering these to Guild members for a very discounted rate. The web store price still says $10 as of this moment, so hold off on those purchases until we can update the store to the $5 rate. And if you’re in Guild 5 and just paid $10 for either CD, prove it to me and i’ll discount you the $5.

Ok, this is way too long. If you’re on any type of CC mailing list, you’ll probably be getting a similar email to this from the band very shortly.

have a great weekend everyone!

ps…check the tour dates at caedmonscall.com for upcoming shows in TX, PA, OH, NC, OR, and VA.

what started it all

Thursday, October 5th, 2006

Here’s a great picture that Andy O posted from this past weekend.

From left to right that’s, Danielle Young, Amy Ray, Captain BarChord, and Emily Saliers

Amy and Emily are in a band called The Indigo Girls, perhaps you’ve heard of them. In fact, the reason Caedmon’s Call got together in the first place, as Andy O alluded to, is to cover Indigo Girls songs. So I’m sure this was a real treat for Cliff and Danielle (although i think they’ve had a chance to meet them before).

In any event, enjoy the picture. And for Bebo’s sake, if you don’t have Andy O’s blog bookmarked yet, make it happen!

More coming tomorrow…

Israel Trip Cancelled, next album being written

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Because of the current conflict happening in Israel, this trip has been cancelled.

In other news, the band is writing for their next CD, which will not be on Essential Records. We’ve heard rumors about other record labels, some involving various letters of the alphabet, but nothing has been confirmed to us yet. If i had to throw together a rough timeline based on what i’ve heard from the band and from what I know of how Caedmon’s usually operates, i would say that the record should be recorded in the next couple of months, will be finished up at the beginning of next year, will be released in the summer, and will be followed up by a huge tour in the Fall of ‘07. But that’s 90% conjecture and guesstimating on my part.

News on Guild 5 coming this week…stay tuned.
