Caedmon’s guitar on Ebay

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

If you’ve ever wanted to play like Caedmon’s Call, or just own some of their gear, here’s your chance. Former Caedmon’s Call member Derek Webb is selling some of his gear on Ebay, including a Black American Fender Stratocaster that he used for many years while with Caedmon’s Call. The bidding ends on Monday evening, July 31st, so go check it out before the auction ends.

Derek has some other things up for sale as well, including a Roland XP-30 Synthesizer that both he and his wife Sanrda McCracken have used in and out of the studio and even a LinkSys USB 4 port print server for you techheads. You can track all of Derek’s auctions by visiting this link.

Here’s to hoping a Caedmon’s Call fan wins the bidding!

2006-06-04 Church of the Apostles Bootleg Available

Monday, July 24th, 2006

If you need another push to go over to IndieRiver.net and get hooked up with some bootleg action, I’ve put up the show from the 4th of June at Church of the Apostles in Atlanta. Take a look at the show information page here on the .net if you want to know a little about the show before diving in. One reason to grab this? Andy and Danielle pull off a rendition of “I Did Not Catch Her Name” for the first time ever in concert.

the status of the Guild

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

I’ve been getting a few emails every week regarding the Guild and when it will kick up again. The short answer is that we don’t really know for sure. I can tell you, however, that it will be somewhat soon. We’ve identified a few major changes that need to be made to the Guild Website in order to go live, and that list has been communicated to the webmaster. So we are basically waiting on those changes to be done. At that point, we’ll make sure everything is in order to launch and then we’ll open things up.

The Guild will be different this time around. Your membership will be lifetime. It will cost only $10. You’ll get a Guild Membership card, access to the Guild website, discounts on Merch, access to our online version of the Thirsty Plants Webzine, access to Guild rooms at select concerts, discounted price on previous Guild CDs (except Guild 1, of course, which remains out of print), and the ability to purchase the future Guild CDs.

The plan for future Guild CDs is pretty basic. The money that we raise from this membership drive will finance the next Guild CD. Those will be available to Guild members only at a price of around $10. Proceeds from selling those CDs will go towards making the next CD and so forth.

We are not guaranteeing that there will ever be another Guild weekend/Guild Concert. We won’t rule it out, but it is hard for something like that to be coordinated these days. If it ever does happen, there will be a nominal fee involved to cover the cost.

All of this info is available by clicking the “Guild” link at caedmonscall.com. If you have any specific questions, shoot me an email at guildinfo@caedmonscall.com.

thanks,

bryan

IndieRiver.net and the Caedmon’s Call Demo Tape

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

We here at [caedmonscall.net] are proud to announce IndieRiver.net, our bootleg-trading site powered by BitTorrent.

Many moons ago, we acquired a copy of the 1993 Caedmon’s Call demo tape. Thanks to Rick “Caedmon’s Medley” DePirro, we now have a high-quality copy of the demo trading on FLAC. So, fire up your BitTorrent client and hit up the BitTorrent tracker for the Caedmon’s Call demo tape.

[If you're staring at your screen and wondering what the heck BitTorrent is, much less how to use it, check out Mark Smiley's HOWTO on downloading and processing bootlegs via BitTorrent over on squarepegalliance.net.]
