Caedmons, The Holy Land, and You

If all of you made out a list of 100 things you’d like to do before you die, i bet these 3 would show up on more than half of the lists:

  1. visit the Holy Land
  2. take a vacation with Caedmon’s Call
  3. skydive naked

I’m happy to pass along that this December you’ll have a chance to do 2 out of the 3.

On December 26th Caedmon’s Call will be leading a group that heads to Israel for 2 weeks. This is a well-organized trip that is an annual event planned by Second Baptist in Houston (where a few Caedmon’s members attend). This year Caedmon’s Call will be leading the expedition to the Holy Land, and they are inviting everyone who wants to come along.

For more information about the trip, send me an email to bryan(at)caedmonscall.net with “Israel Trip” in the header. As i get all the info in the next couple of weeks i will pass it all along to anyone who is interested. I do know that the trip will cost about $2500 per person and that you will be staying in luxurious hotels while there and not roughing it.

Cliff is really excited about the trip and was telling me that they already are planning things like an overnight trek to follow the path of the holy grail as well as a possible church service in a church in Jerusalem. It sounds like it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So if you are a Caedmon’s Call fan and you’re thinking about crossing a few things off of you life to-do-list, this might be just what you’re looking for. And heck, if you’re feeling daring, go skydive naked to complete the trifecta.

  1. I will skip the skydiving naked.

I’ve already indicated my interest to Bryan.

  3. GL says:

How do you incite violence in the Middle East?

Plan a Caedmons Call tour to Israel.

In 2000 Caedmons planned a tour and in September the second intifadah (also known as al-Asqa intifadah) broke out.

Now, after Israel’s policy of unilateral disengagement has brought early fruits of success, Caedmons plans again to tour. Result? Wreck the peace. Kidnappings, rocket attacks, airstrikes and more.

All because a folk band in Texas/Tennessee just *had* to plan a tour to Israel.

As soon as Caedmons scotches the Israel tour, peace will start breaking out and within a year all will be tranquil again…until Caedmons plots their next Israel tour.
