Andy O’s Selling an Axe

Attention all guitar players. Andy Osenga is selling one of his axes and wants to give the fine patrons of this site the first shot at it. Sound interesting? Check out the pics. Sound not so interesting? Check it out anyway!

***GUITAR HAS BEEN SOLD***.

Andy Osenga, former Normals frontman and current touring member of Caedmon’s Call, is selling one of his electric guitars and thought it would be great if some fans of the band had first crack at it. Here’s what Andy has to say about the guitar followed by a few pictures. If you’re seriously interested in the guitar, send him an email at andyogear@caedmonscall.net. And if you’re not familiar with Andy’s solo work, please take a few minutes and check it out at andrewosenga.com.

This guitar is an 85 Fender Japanese Stratocaster. It has a natural finish, with silver hardware and it came with white pickguard and knobs. I actually swapped those out with a black pickguard and knobs, but I still have the original and would put on whichever you wanted.

The neck and center pickup are the original Seymour Duncan stackable humbuckers. I replaced the treble pickup with a Dunlop single-coil, cause I thought it just needed a little more rock and roll. It’s last set-up, cleaning and overhaul was in August, and has been kept up very regularly. I’ve done a lot of work on it myself, as well, and I must say it plays really well, much better even than when I bought it! I also have the whammy bar, and a case to go with it.

I bought this guitar in March of 1999, and have used it in virtually every show since. It was featured on the “Coming to Life” and “A Place Where You Belong” Normals albums, and my solo record as well. You can hear it on the songs “These Times”, “Full On (Don’t Hold Back)”, and it’s playing every part on “When Will I Run” just to name a few. If you saw the last caedmon’s tour, I also played it on “Lead Me On”.

I have loved this guitar, written a lot of songs and played a lot of shows with it. I’m wanting to move into an antique Strat world now, though, and can’t justify having two around, and couldn’t afford it either! I’ll miss this guitar, and want somebody to have it who would really take care of it and enjoy it, hence my selling it here on CC.net first. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Also, I’ll throw in a couple Normals records, and my solo album, if you don’t have them, and maybe a few other things, just for fun.

As far as price goes, I’m looking to get $550.

Thanks.

Andrew
