DEREK WEBB FLIES SOLO
Webb Ready To Promote Already Critically Acclaimed First Solo Effort She Must and Shall Go Free, Releasing March 25th
February 10, 2003 (Nashville, Tenn.) Derek Webb, singer/songwriter from the acclaimed Christian group Caedmon’s Call, has announced after ten years and with the support of his band mates, has left the group and chosen to focus his endeavors on the upcoming release of his first solo project, She Must and Shall Go Free. This already critically applauded project releases March 25, 2003 on INO Records.
With two months to go until its release, She Must And Shall Go Free has already received significant media acclaim. Many are sharing their thoughts of Webb’s solo effort:
“Derek tempers his points nicely with perspective, often pointing the finger at himself and allowing the listeners to convict themselves if the shoe fits just don’t be surprised to find that one size fits all. There’s an urgent need for the Christian church to hear the bold and convicting songs of Derek Webb.”
-Russ Breimeier, Christianitytoday.com
“Derek Webb assumes Rich Mullins’ mantle by desperately loving God’s people while convicting them of their inadequacies. The album’s musicianship, theology and passion transcend parallel by wrapping the spirit of Mullins, Keith Green and Bob Dylan into one soul-stirring experience.”
-Bryan Belnap, Group Magazine
“With the passion of a Bride, the substance of distilled wisdom, and the creativity of well-stewarded gifts, Derek Webb has given us much more than a great CD, he has given us the heart of Jesus for His Wife. In a day when too many of us relate to the Church as consumers wandering through the food court in a mall, Derek challenges us to live as a people consumed with the glory and grace of our Bridegroom.”
-Scotty Smith, Pastor, Christ Community Church, Franklin, TN
Webb produced She Must And Shall Go Free along with co-producers Kenny Meeks, Matt Pierson and Garett Buell. Spring and summer tour plans for Webb are already underway and will be announced shortly. Please visit www.derekwebb.com for more information.
